How can Health Coaching help?
Health Coaching is accredited by the NHS PCI (Personalised Care Institute) accountable for all Health Coaches, to provide accountability and standards for training and personalised care in England. Health Coaches are often the middle man in supporting GPs offering the stop-gap before a patient becomes unwell. For example if you suspect you may be pre-diabetic, a Social Prescriber may suggest you seek a Health Coach to support your health before it deteriorates to possible diabetic state. Looking at management and prevention is the Health Coach model. We offer the tools to support you in your emotional wellbeing, life goals, nutrition goals, weight management, menopause, conception, work goals, environment, relationships, ambitions, financial management strategies, self-care, family support, spiritual support, validation and confidence building. Plus much more. We do not offer advice with supplements or Vitamins as our go to advice would be first and foremost nutrition from foods, as the number one goal.
Do I need to be technical to access memberships or digital products?
No, all you need is wi-fi and a good internet connection, either on a mobile device, laptop, computer or ipad. The pdf downloads can be saved to your device and the memberships will involve you setting up a password usually your email address. This will be widely available and information will be given when memberships and digital downloads are available.
How do I access Memberships?
Memberships will be available In October for a short period of time to be able to give access to those within the memberships my full attention when we engage in the Live Mindfulness sessions, Book suggestions and discussions, once a week Live Topic, Challenges, guest speakers and much more. Will Breath Coaching help with anxiety and panic attacks?
Using safe techniques in a controlled setting breath coaching is so beneficial for anxiety and panic attacks and so much more. Working with your Vagus Nerve (wandering nerve) and enhancing your Parasympathetic Nervous System, Sympathetic Nervous System using the power of the breath - you can alter the PH in your blood- improving blood pressure and circulation, improves your immune system, reducing stress, calming the mind and body. improve sleep quality, improve lung function, reduce headaches. On occasions caution must be taken and we look at your cardiovascular history to enhance full capacity of safety. Breath Coaching is incorporated into a programme you purchase such as Health Coaching.
I have a young adult with Learning Disabilities - how can Coaching help me?
We look at your life. Work. Support system. As a parent myself to a son with Learning Disabilities - I hear you, I get you. Life can be challenging but beautiful. Do you find you have lost your identity as an SEN parent? Lets work together and find you again. Often we get mistaken for ‘mum’, ‘dad’, ‘nana’ ‘auntie’ when we are taking our young adults or children to a health professional and our names are not mentioned.
We get lost in the system. I offer you the tools to be able to claim back your identity and to become YOU again. Someone who belongs and someone who matters. What did you used to do that you have not done in a while? Horse-riding? Art classes? Couch to 5k? Why? No time? Well its time to make time and for self care. Am I right? I am grieving and struggling what can I do? I hate feeling like this when will it end?
Grief and Bereavement : Two words that seem to have similar meaning but are very different in their feelings. Bereavement is the fact of loss. Grief is the functional, emotional, behavioural and cognitive responses towards the loss itself. No two losses and no two people are the same. Everyone grieves differently at different rates. There is no right or wrong here. If you seek support too quickly after mourning a death of a loved one this can be detrimental in your recovery. Grief recovery varies from person to person and you must seek support when the time is right for you, without judgement or pressure from yourself or anyone else. Grief is a process and there are many stages. Remember Grief can be seen as having been loved or giving love. It is unique. When grief interferes with quality of life support is needed and family and friends around you are another area of solace if you find you cannot approach your health professional just yet. We are here as qualified Grief and Bereavement Coaches whenever you feel ready to help you move forward with love for yourself and acceptance.
As a Man I find there is little Mental Health support near me. Do you offer online support?
Yes Online, and in person. Workshops will be available soon in the Corporate setting. Often anxiety gets in the way of someone leaving the house to seek support. This is a great way of offloading in the comfort of your own home. The use of hypnotherapy, elements of psychotherapy, CBT, NLP and mindfulness are a great way to understand why your brain is feeling the way it is. Offering breathing techniques with explanations, Health Coaching, workbooks online to help guide you or to have self guided methods you can access online in your own time is so beneficial. Online working is now the new way of working with therapists.
As therapists we can see more people in the time scales we are presented with and also you reduce time with travelling and this reduces anxiety. Seeking support has never been a more crucial time with people working from home, since the pandemic and more people feeling isolated and panic. Please do not see online as a barrier - it is so beneficial and now more widely available to help you in your new chapter of feeling well again.
I have never written a journal. Do I have to show anyone? How does it work? I have never been very good at writing.
Journal therapy is a very creative way to help support your mental health where you can write about your inner most thoughts without judgement. You don’t have to show anyone what you have written. This is private and for your eyes only unless you wanted to show anyone that is entirely your choice. You will be guided on how to do it in a structured way, however there is no right or wrong. When you are guided you can either write with bullet points, just let the words flow or you can write a story. Journal Therapy is incorporated into your programme that you purchase. I work in a busy office how can my Manager support me with my mental health - I don’t feel I can approach them.
Firstly, congratulate yourself for acknowledging you need some support. If you prefer I can speak to your place of work on your behalf. I would advise you speak to your GP for support also. I would suggest you speak to your Occupational Health department or HR department as they have a duty of care when you are on business premises. Your wellbeing should be their priority so you should be able to approach them. If you don’t have a very understanding manager you could speak to your Head Office for support.
If you have a colleague or friend that can attend a meeting with you to get support this is an ideal scenario. Taking the first steps are often the most difficult/ I am sure once you make the first move to speak to a Manager or supervisor you will find it easier once they are aware of your wellbeing needs. How can I purchase digital products or coaching so I can access at home but in my own time?
We are currently working on stripe as an access to payments - for the short term purchasing a coaching programme is via the contact page. Coaching is 1:1 with me your coach via zoom.
